Behind The Scenes of Finish Line

As you guys know I assisted the amazing Leann Soki Mak on the music video shoot of Yasmin's new single - which is out this week - for her single 'Finish Line'. Here is the Behind The Scenes video of the shoot and basically what I got to see throughout the day. This short clip 3 minutes and 49 seconds doesn't give the day justice and yes it felt like the MTV Behind The Scenes, but more like rather than a twenty five minutes show- I was up at 6 am and went to bed at midnight. Anyway enjoy the video and I wonder if you guys can see me in the video?

Burr It's Cold In Here!

As some of you may know by now, I having taking some time out of education after just under two years of studying at university, found what I love to do which I would like to call 'creative direction' - basically styling, promotion, marketing and lots of other stuff rolled into one. 


Within the last year I have had an educational and fashion industry tasting experience working with Eun Jeong. I have learnt what not to do and what to do, the ins and outs, but I have not learnt everything - but I have learnt what I want to do.


I am retaking the journey of applying to university which this time round I am much more prepared for. With this I decided to do a shoot to freshen up my portfolio. I have been doing lots of sketching and illustrations. I am really finding my creative flair again, being more fluid and free with what all my creativeness.


I am planning to create a mini portfolio which i can bring around with me to interviews for internships and universities and other such things which they can keep and make them remember me. Hopefully this will work in my favour. 

Anyway, these are a few backstage shots taken by Lara. Our lovely model Sooanne was absolutely amazing, she is so beautiful, sang us lots of songs like a little jukebox and acted like an angel even though it was absolutely freezing and was happy to do a shot in the snow on rooftop!Thank you to Gabi Torres the photographer on this shoot and Audrey for her magic make up hands.

As some of you may know - I am a fan of MTV's 'The City'. I think it is an amazing insight into the world of fashion - okay maybe not the world of fashion, but it is my reality fix. You love Whitney, but can't stand Olivia, yet you love both their fashion styles. Never the less one person you really truly respect is Kelly Cutrone. Originally us reality show lovers met her on the MTV's 'The Hills' way back when Miss LC was still in the show, but that's another story.


Kelly Cutrone has become not just known to those within the fashion industry, but also to those not within and believe me she is truly an amazing woman. She has her own Public Relations company Peoples Revolution and recently her own real reality show "Kell On Earth', as well as being a single mother to her beautiful daughter. A must read for ladies and gents who want an insight into not just fashion, but life, you must read her New York Times best seller 'If You Have To Cry Go Outside: And Other Things Your Mother Never Taught You'. It is a very interesting journey Ms.Cutrone has been on, ups and downs. She has given me inspiration to get off my ass and don't follow the route that society has put me on. Her book has made me think twice about my decisions and why I am doing it. As some of you may known about my small career goal change, her book helped me on with that. 


I had the lucky honor to meet her during her short visit to London. She tweeted that she was going to be in London for one day and doing a book signing at Illamasqua, an amazing make up brand which celebrates being different and a statement of self-ownership and self expression. Of course I was down there faster than you know.

She gave a talk of thanks for all coming down and you could tell she really appreciated people coming. The fact that all the books there sold out within 30 minutes tells you something. A surreal experience meeting her, at one point I nearly had to go outside and cry!


Illamasqua are an amazing brand and they put the fun back into make up. As woman (and some men) we forget how fun it is to dress up and being someone or something else for a day, a night or a week. Something that in today's society we have all forgotten, until Halloween comes round. If I had more time I would of love to have a play round in their make up, I may just pop back there soon. Just so you know they are on Beak Street, London W1 just at the end of Carnaby Street.


All in all, girls and guys read this book - you may not like all of it, but you will love some of it, but it will make you think. 


I just wanted to make you guys aware that all the proceeds from the event went to the Sophie Lancaster Foundation. In 2007, 20 year old Sophie and her boyfriend were kicked, stamped on and left unconscious for being on thing - looking different. Sadly, Sophie died later due to her injuries. 


In tribute to Sophie, her family made ' The Sophie Lancaster Foundation' which helped young people to be aware of the tolerance to violence against uniqueness. Illamasqua have created the Sophie Eye Pencil and Sophie Wristband which is available from their online store. Make a donation guys!

Burrito & Ballet

Forget Friday nights doing the nightclubs, the classiest of ladies hang out at Ballet. No, this isn't some new nightclub called 'Ballet', but really Friday nights at Frame in Shoreditch, where you can dance the night away like you're in the Nutcracker - well you can attempt at least. Frame invited us bloggers for a little dance and a little DIY.


Sadly, I got lost and missed the dance class - maybe a good thing, I may of injured a few girls if I was there. I got there just in time to customise my very own ballet pumps! There were so many trimmings, buttons and beads that really I didn't know where to start. Shini from Park & Cube made a cute couple, and Kit from StyleSlicker made an amazing piece! After all the hard work, I directed the girls to my favourite Brick Lane restaurant, Loco Mojitos, which went down well with all the ladies.

A sneaky look at the Eun Jeong Spring Summer 2011 Lookbook. The photographer is the amazing Gabi Torres, who also took the photographs for the show. The model Sooanne Berner from D1 Models is fantastic, she's the fashion editor at her university and a darling young lady. At 5'9 she constantly has to lean down to hug me or for me to dress her! 


It's nice to have models and photographers are great to work with - no drama, no divas!

Fashion TV x AOFM Fashion Week Party

Last week to end London Fashion Week with a bang, I was invited by the amazing Sandra Cooke to the Fashion TV and Academy of Freelance Make Up (AOFM) Fashion Week Party. I RSVP'ed and invited my sidekick Rachel along with me. The event was also to celebrate F Vodka being launched into the UK and the AOFM book.

We was greeted by some interesting ladies in cirque de fashion costumes and some 'hunky' guys with the AOFM logo painted on them. It was an opportunity to make new contacts and to dance the night away, in the most fashionable way possible - with a glass of champagne in our hand.

A performance for Escala made the night even more special - seriously those girls are really amazing, they make you want to pick up a violin! There was another artist who performed with some interesting song lyrics, but I have forgotten her name - maybe it is best I did. 

We made some contacts from Fashion TV, AOFM and other places. Fashion Week is like another world, really for once I felt like just dabbled into the industry. Hopefully one day they will know my name... 

What Took Me So Long?

Sorry for not posting in such a long time. There have been a whirlwind of things going on at the moment. Over the past summer months I have been taken a little time out to see what I really want in life - career wise and personally. My mum (mummy to me) was hospitalised, and she isn't one to be so unwell. It was a shock to not just me, but my whole family. Luckily, she was not in the worse of conditions, but to see someone you care about so much with things attached to them wasn't nice. However she is home now, taking a nice summers rest and recovery and as usual back to her old self.

- Just want to say I love you Mummy and it's good to see that you're home, nagging and all sorts. Thank you to all my friends and family for the support. I love you all!

On to lighter news, as I have posted before I have been steered away from Fashion Design and more into promotion, public relations and styling. I have been honoured with the opportunity of an internship at my previous internship ( hope that wasn't confusing), Eun Jeong. She has a small team which means alot more responsibility - thus a massive education which I have to say you won't learn in the classroom. Sorting out things for the run up for fashion week including invitations, sponsorships, ticket requests and the list could go on. It has given me the chance to know fully what I want to do, and this is it. Will I work with Eun Jeong for the rest of my career? Proberly Not, but she's help me to learn alot about the industry and myself.

There are times where I am fed up like hell, tired and wish there was more time in the day. Then at the end of the day I realise how much I love it. Fashion, is actually what I love.

I have took a break from education, some may say that's wrong, but when you were in my shoes you would know it was a very very difficult decision. I am going back to education to a university I love and wish I never left. My application is in the works and I can't wait to hopefully be walking down the corridors of an amazing university.

Most of all I have learnt that in my life there are a few people who have been supportive through all of it,

- The few amazing friends

- And you guys, really it's true.

I am not going to lie I watch The Hills and The City (more The City, so much more interesting!), but when I bumped into this whilst browsing amazon, I really was disgusted. Is this seriously the type of people the next generation are looking up to? Speidi? I am scared for the future. At this rate I am going to have to ban my future mini me's from television and the internet.

There are no words to explain my sadness. She is one of my favourite models. Daul Kim, was spunky, fun and didn't seem to care what anyone thinks. Another soon to be supermodel, taken away. I can't even write this.
