That Viktor & Rolf.

That fashion student, is up right now and I just finished watching the Viktor & Rolf Documentary on DVD called 'BECAUSE WE'RE WORTH WORK'. It goes into depth of the development of Dutch duo's fashion line and how you broke into the fashion industry with their theatrical catwalk shows and avant-garde creations. It takes the viewer up close and personal with the Dutch fashion duo at the turning point of their career, with the launch of their new fashion line, their 'Flowerbomb', a matching catwalk collection, and new lines of glasses and shoes.

It available on DVD under Submarine DVD. I think you can get it on Amazon I am sure of it actually, but I got it at my university library so I am sure you can get it at your local university library also.

It's a really good DVD, and maybe get the book to go with it, if you have got any money, I know poor students no money. Should be in your local university library.

That Project.

Sorry for not blogging in a while. Went back to university after Christmas and had so much to do. I finally finished my project on Volume Brands and now I am starting my next project on Niche Brands. Looking at four trends and doing a collection for a niche brand.
Obviously we had to pick from the brands that they have given us. I decided to do good old All Saints, yes it is slightly overpriced, okay not slightly. As well as that I have to start looking for a work placement. Luckily, I have a week off to do my research for this project as well as start doing my draft for my letters and emails for placements.
Anyway back to my project.
All Saints. British Brand. There colour palette is very 'dirty' with charcoal, ivory, black, white, navy and various shades of greys. Draping is a key thing also, but at the same time they have alot of tailored key items. What do you think of All Saints? In other words help!

That Ashley Olsen

Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen have always been such an iconic pair. From their days as the infamous childstars to walking their separate paths. Mary Kate has always been known as the radical one and the one who did the drugs and so forth. For the project I am currently doing for my degree course Ashley has become my muse.
She's the classic American. Simple shirt and Gap jeans look. So inspire me Ashley to do 100 designs and a sketchbook based on you iconic American look.

Check out Mary-Kate & Ashley's new book 'Influence' available at all bookstores, it's a great book and it's a must have for any fashion student.
